Aschaffenburg planned a hike.
August 11, 2020
This relaxed hike takes you to the southernmost part of Aschaffenburg: to Obernau. Nowhere are the river, settlement, mixed forest, orchard meadows and wonderful views so close together. You can find out for yourself whether the sky is really blue on this beautiful tour. The starting point of the culture trail is the multi-purpose hall car park at the Wendelinus chapel. From here the path climbs slightly uphill and leads you along the station path into the Obernau Forest. After a few minutes you will pass the moss-covered Mariengrotto and a few steps further at the Maria Frieden forest chapel. Here you turn north. After around three kilometers, the forest opens up and the culture trail leads you to flower-rich meadows, through which numerous insects teem. Soon you will reach the edge of Obernau again and hike to the banks of the Main with the impressive lock.Through the main street and Bahnhofstraße you go back to the starting point of the tour past the oldest buildings such as the rectory, town hall and church.
