I had heard a lot about the Franconian Dünenweg, actually an 85km long long-distance hiking trail in the Nuremberg region. Ok, it's a matter of taste, I thought there were a lot more "sand or highlights" or display boards. If you live right next to the forest and have been in the forest every day from an early age, you will probably not find mixed forest with very large beech trees so exciting 😉 For biking almost continuously 100% shade + almost only forest paths / paths and a number of trails, so awesome. I would have wished for E on the uphill gradients 😊 I had to push briefly a few times, couldn't go downhill / uphill 😉My highlight today, on Nonnenberg there are a lot of Spanish flags (butterflies) that I had only seen on Komoot until now.

Nice pictures, is the dune path worthwhile for cycling?

@Rombea so at your doorstep there are trails + great rock formations + awesome forest and view - so find it more beautiful with you. The dune trail is worthwhile for simply biking - it's a matter of taste 😉

@Sunny: I know the "Spanish flags" as the "Brown Bear". Finally something that I seem to have seen more often than you :-); is actually not that rare.
As always - good photos (I don't like repeating myself anymore).

@ Werner You are welcome to repeat yourself 😉 yes the butterflies have 2 names, consciously I haven't seen them yet.

    OK. - I will repeat myself :-)
When you think of your photos, I actually always think of a richly illustrated outdoor guide for Franconia.
