As the name suggests, the mill and castles tour takes you to the most beautiful water mills and stately castles in Artland. Go on a journey through time and gain insights into an ancient craft.It starts in the center of Ankum. You cycle south past Ankumer See and follow the course of the tour through a field and forest landscape. Before Döthen you can take a detour to the Näpfchenstein, which is surrounded by a legendary story. Then you get to Eggermühlen with its lovely castle, which is surrounded by a moat.After a short stop, the path leads you past magnificent half-timbered courtyards - the Artland is known for its well-preserved and richly decorated half-timbered houses. And the next highlight is not long in coming: The moated castle Loxten is surrounded by a wide park, not far from the estate there is also a mill worth seeing.You get to Bersenbrück via Druchhorn. There you can visit the former Cistercian monastery that operated two mills - the rabbit mill and the field mill. Then you cycle towards Ahausen and from there towards the south past the Lordsee. Then it goes back to Ankum, where you can finally visit the Artländer Cathedral.
