Osnabrücker Land planned a bike ride.
August 9, 2020
The approximately 30-kilometer round tour leads through the town of Bissendorf and the surrounding villages in a south-easterly direction. The picturesque Sonnensee invites you to linger at the beginning or at the end of the tour. The starting point is at the shimmering Sonnensee in Bissendorf. From there it goes through Wersche and over the Hase to Linne and Lake Linner. The tree-lined shore of the lake invites you to take a short break. You then cycle relaxed through Ellerbeck and after you have left the idyllic Hasetal behind you, a detour to Ledenburg Castle is worthwhile. Shortly before Nemden you turn back to Bissendorf, but follow the route further south. To get to Holte, you step up the first slope of this circular tour and there you can visit the oldest church in Bissendorf from 1153. The path continues uphill to a small forest where the remains of the Holte castle ruins are located. It is worthwhile to park your bike here to explore the remains of the wall on foot. After this little detour, you swing back on your bike and drive through the beautiful Zittertal back to Bissendorf. If you still have time, you can visit the interesting museum of local history or hop in the lake.Due to construction work on the Stepkeweg level crossing in the Bissendorf Ellerbeck district, this cycle route will probably be rerouted via the Lange Lichtsweg until January 31, 2021. The route and the signs have been adapted accordingly.
