Day 1 of our off-road bikepacking trip brought us from the start in Durbach at the edge of the Black Forest, into the heart of the Black Forest. Most roads consisted of great gravel roads. We ended up sleeping in a 'Schutzhütte', an open shelter, near the village of Haslach.

Hi, great tour! Were you satisfied with the 1-way drive or would 2-way be better?

Hi Thomas, I'm a big fan of 1-by drivetrains when it comes to gravel and off-road. All the gears you need and more direct shifting from smaller to bigger gears or the other way around.
Especially when riding off grit, you sometimes get surprised by a sudden steep climb around the corner.

It is possible on both the gravel bike and the mountain bike. Big tires are good 👍🏼

Thank you, you are very cool. The front suspension of the mountain bike is less fatigue :)
