On Sunday we were in Alsace, more precisely on the German-French border.
It started from the parking lot at the German Wine Gate in Schweigen-Rechtenbach.
Through the gate first went to the vineyards, from there we enjoyed a beautiful view and already crossed the border to France. Then we went for a while in the forest to Langenberg Castle (nothing special I have to say), past Buchbachsee to the Landgasthof St. Germanshof, and we crossed the border again and were back in Germany. After that, we went across the border again, following the Lauter River to Wissembourg. Very beautiful historically interesting city and flower-friendly. The highlight in the city for me was the St. Peter and St. Paul church, almost too big for such a small town, there was a lot to see. You can visit the church with mouth, nose protection equipment.
After exploring the city we went back to Schweigen-Rechtenbach, it was not far.
During this hike we filled up somewhere along the coast like on vacation, lots of exotic plants that you won't find in our area.
PS: My wife also found that she needs new hiking shoes.
