The past few days have left their mark on us. So Silvio suggested that we drive the first part to the dam with the Büssli. A good tip, since the long asphalt path proved to be rather monotonous. We felt at home again with our mountain bikes along the Lac de Mauvoisin reservoir. Nature has drawn from the full here and conjured up a breathtaking backdrop. At the end of the lake, however, there was an end to cosiness and things really got going. The climb to Fenêtre de Durand (2797 m) is very demanding up to Alp Thoules. There are also some carrying sections; Once at the top, this is quickly forgotten. A very varied descent towards Aosta Valley began, peppered with many single trails and root passages. There were still two days on the program and with the last day also the highlight of our trip. The weather study has accompanied us more and more intensely the last days, because a bad weather front was announced for the last day. Not the best prerequisite for crossing the Theodul Pass at an altitude of 3333 meters. We therefore made a new plan on this day and implemented it together with Christian (mountainbikereisen.ch): We canceled the tour through the Aosta Valley (the Italians may forgive us) and bridged the day with the shuttle directly to Cervinia. With this cut, we were able to tackle the queen stage without any weather risk. Christian organized the hotels and gave us the green light for the change. Silvio received us in Aosta with the red Büssli and drove up to Cervinia at a late hour.
