On this bike tour we take you on a journey through the impressive cultural landscape of the Leopold III garden. Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau. As a supporter of the Enlightenment, he undertook several study trips to other countries during his working life, the findings of which he also implemented in landscaping. He made a little variety in the baroque gardens and created beautiful parks that were closer to nature. Look forward to a journey of almost 70 kilometers through the blossoming garden world of a bygone era.The train station in Mosigkau is the perfect starting point. Since the tour leads around Dessau-Roßlau, it is also easy to reach from Dessau's main train station. The starting point would be just behind Ziebigk in the north of Dessau. If you start the tour in Mosigkau, the route initially leads you in a wide arc around Dessau, past the Kühnauer See and along Wallwitzberg along a section of the Elbe, which describes a pretty loop here.It continues on the Elbdamm, where the first pretty elements of the garden kingdom are not long in coming. Again and again on the tour you will encounter such dreamy buildings that locate the route in an almost fairytale-like atmosphere. A clear highlight of the tour is the Wörlitz Park shortly afterwards. Here you should definitely take the time to explore the parks more closely.Via the village of Oranienbaum, you continue south along the palace grounds of the same name along the garden kingdom of Prince Franz. Shortly afterwards you are in the middle of the Middle Elbe biosphere reserve. The protected area designated by UNSECO is home to an incredibly diverse flora and fauna, and one or the other beaver castle can also be admired here.Back to Mosigkau it goes again in a wide arc in the south around Dessau. At the end of the tour in the garden kingdom, you can still look forward to a tour of the Mosigkau Castle with its extensive park. If the tour is too long for you, you can also cleverly divide it into two small round tours. A good basis for an overnight stay is, for example, in the inner-city area north of Dessau-Roßlau.
