Hiking Highlight (Segment)
Österreichs Wanderdörfer planned a hike.
August 10, 2017
If you want to explore the foothills of the limestone massif in the Styrian hiking village of Ramsau am Dachstein, you and your four-legged friend can make their way to the Silberkarhütte (1,250m). The hike, which is also suitable for families, takes you over more than 200 vertical meters in the ascent and descent through the Silberkarklamm - a spectacular whitewater gorge. With a walking time of about two hours and a moderate difficulty, this hike is also quite suitable for smaller dogs. Over many bridges and stairs, past wild-flowing brooks, you reach the first destination - the rustic Silberkar hut. The brook running along the gorge also offers sufficient drinking opportunities along the way and invites you to refresh yourself in the shallow water shortly before the hut. About the mountain trail leads you then the circular trail on natural trails back to the starting point. The limestone is relatively rough, which requires more sure-footed than conventional meadow and forest trails and should be chosen wisely in dogs with sensitive paws. We wish you an exciting hiking day!
