This beautiful hike with a dog takes you to the Styrian hiking and mountaineering village of Krakow. An insider's tip, as the small community with only 1,465 inhabitants is one of the few crowded hiking areas in Austria and therefore ideally suited to escape the stress and hectic pace of everyday life. Wildromantisch as in the book!Start of the approximately 12-kilometer hike is from the hiking starting place Etrachsee. Here are enough parking available. On a good 600 meters up and down you walk to the Lower and Upper Wildenkarsee right into the water-rich Schladming Tauern. Therefore, not surprising, the numerous refreshment options for humans and quadrupeds, which facilitate the hike even in summer temperatures. On the well signposted path 794, you first walk along the idyllic Lake Etrach, past alpine huts and continue uphill through the forest. After about two thirds you cross the Grafenalmbach below the Grafenalm. After about one and a half hours walking you will reach the Rudolf-Schober-Hütte. Next stop is the Upper Wildenkarsee, at 2,053 meters above sea level. You should not be put off by the cold of the lake. After the jump into the cold wet one feels like newborn. Your dog will certainly fool it ...Leash the dog on this hike, as there are free-range cows and sheep during the grazing season.In Krakow, this tour is rated as "easy".
