In Rehagen we searched in vain for a waterfront promenade to walk along the Mellensee instead of on the main street. Two older women explained that this was possible in the past, but today most of it is sold to private individuals. There is still a very short part of the way from an unguarded swimming area to the outdoor pool. Both - swimming area and outdoor pool are highly recommended. Commerce has not (yet) struck here. For us Saxons this is always admirable. We then made our way to Sperenberg. On the way there was the train station in Rehagen. A big train station for such a sleepy nest? A resident explained to us: At the beginning of the 20th century, all war equipment nearby was subjected to a "TÜV" in Kummersdorf. So not just German, but from all over the world. The Russian Tsar also sent his cannons there. But the big train station.Today, as in almost every small town, there is no train here.
But you can stay here and there are also events. Behind the station is a dilapidated NVA barracks site.Rehagen was once a garrison post of the Soviet Army.
One thing remains to be mentioned: people like to drink a coffee on vacation. Arrived back in Sperenberg, at least we craved it. 3:30 p.m. we stood in front of the "Wahl" bakery at REWE, which was open until 4:00 p.m. The shop assistant told us that there was no coffee now.We found what we were looking for with friendly service in the "Seeklause".
