The Pöhl dam and the wildly romantic Trieb Valley await you on this tour. You hike the beauty of the Vogtland over a good eight kilometers - and in the end a great place to stop for refreshments awaits you.It starts at the parking lot at the Gunzenberg campsite. From here you walk a bit along the waterfront, including past Germany's largest climbing forest. If you don't (yet) feel like swinging to dizzying heights, keep on walking - meanwhile on a hiking trail, which informs you about the construction of the dam and the sunken village of Pöhl on some display boards. And so it goes on, always following the white-red-white signposts, past the old walls of an over 3,000-year-old housing estate and finally down into the Trieb Valley, where the reservoir basin is also located. You can reach the wild and romantic valley via somewhat impassable steps, but you will love it for its beautiful nature and the amount of water that flows through it. At the point where the shoots and the White Elster flow together, and suddenly the impressive Elstertal Bridge appears in front of you, you turn and hike to the height of the first bridge arch, over the beautiful bridge and back down to the Elstertal.Up the river, sometimes over stony rocks, sometimes over lush meadows, you march on to the romantic Lochbauer. Take a break in the beer garden under the ancient chestnut trees - then a wooden bridge and the Gunzengraben valley will take you back to the starting point.
