The Ischgl Ironbike is one of the toughest mountain bike marathons in Europe and attracts numerous bike racers to the beautiful mountains around Ischgl every year. But even without racing pressure, the trails and paths here are fantastically beautiful and there is nothing to be said against it if you go on the trail of the iron bike alone or with a few friends. You are spoiled for choice because you can follow two routes: the "Light route" and the "Medium route".This tour describes the "Light" version and, as the name suggests, it is a defused variant with less than 30 kilometers in length and a manageable number of meters in altitude. It is perfect if you want to sniff a little “racing air” and discover the wonderful mountain world without going to remote, high-alpine locations and without exhausting yourself. The tour starts at the Silvrettaplatz at the Silvretta cable car in Ischgl. From here you first drive comfortably through the village towards the Hotel Kristall, then cross the federal road to the hamlet of Paznaun on the bike path that leads you along the banks of the Trisanna to Mathon.A longer climb up to beautiful Larein begins here. If you want, you can extend the tour a bit and continue to the Lareinalm. Through the corn forest it goes to Tschaffein and there on the bike path to Mathon. Before you can ride the beautiful single-trail loop, you have to take a few more meters towards Friedrichshafener Hütte: riding on narrow paths and rough root carpets is great fun. The last piece back to Ischgl leads you relaxed at the end on the same bike path that you got to know at the beginning of the tour.Through the corn forest it goes back to the banks of the Trisanna and Mathon. There is still a nice single-track loop waiting for you: Driving on narrow paths and rough root carpets is great fun. The last piece back to Ischgl leads you relaxed at the end on the same bike path that you got to know at the beginning of the tour.Tip: If you feel like a little racing feeling, you can take part in the Paznaun Challenge. Simply download the "Paznaun Challenge" app, choose one of the two routes, track your journey and upload it at the end. You will already find your name on a ranking list and even have the chance of great prizes.
