For the cross country tour, we recommend a trekking bike or mountain bike, because the royal stage of the Schweinfurter Land usually leads away from the concrete and asphalt bike paths. For the sometimes demanding climbs, you will be rewarded with wide panoramic views. The starting point of this round is in Falkenstein, which is surrounded by forest and wine-growing areas. You cycle towards Wohnau and tackle the first climb right at the beginning: on shady, steep forest paths you step up to the Zabelstein. Once at the top, the castle ruins, a nice rest area and a wonderful view await you. After the descent from the Zabelstein you can take a detour to the idyllic village of Altmannsdorf. Otherwise you follow the path south and with a view of the vineyards you cross Michelau and Prüssberg. Then it goes up to the 443-meter-high Stollberg, where you will find a castle ruin and enjoy a wide view of the landscape. At the Gasthaus Stollburg you can satisfy your hunger and then you cycle on to Handthal with the local Steigerwald center. You drive up and down through the Ebracher forest and then follows a picturesque section along the Rauhen Ebrach. You cross Untersteinbach and Obersteinbach and follow the course of the Weilersbach. From the valley it goes up to the Nussberg and on to the Dachsberg. We take you back to the starting point in Falkenstein on forest and forest paths. At the end of the tour, you can let yourself be spoiled with culinary delights in one of the inns.
