For the cross country tour, we recommend a trekking bike or mountain bike, because the royal stage of the Schweinfurter Land usually leads away from the concrete and asphalt bike paths. For the sometimes demanding climbs, you will be rewarded with wide panoramic views. The starting point of this round is Altmannsdorf. Right at the start you tackle the first climb: past grapevines and the idyllic Neuhof district you step up to the Zabelstein. Once at the top, the castle ruins, a nice rest area and a wonderful view await you.On forest and forest trails, the route takes you up and down through shady forest. It goes past the Dachsberg and the Nußberg and further into the valley of the Weilersbach. You cross Obersteinbach and Untersteinbach and then follow a picturesque section along the Rauhen Ebrach. After you have cycled through the Ebracher Forest, you will reach the interesting Steigerwald center. In the nearby town of Handthal you can take a break in one of the inns and fortify yourself for the subsequent climb up to the Stollberg. On the 443 meter high Stollberg is the castle ruin Stollburg, from which you can enjoy a wide view of the landscape. Through the hilly forest areas of the Steigerwald you get back to the wine plain. You cross Michelau and Prüssberg and are back at the starting point after almost 50 kilometers. At the end of the tour, you can let yourself be spoiled with culinary delights in one of the inns in Altmannsdorf.
