On this circular tour with a few crunchy meters in altitude you will experience wonderful views, the idyllic Breitbach valley and Franconian gems. If you don't want to drive the complete Steigerwald tour, you can also shorten it: Either the east-west abbreviation from Dürrnbuch directly to Abtswind or the north-south abbreviation from Geiselwind via Langenberg and Rehweiler to Dürrnbuch. From the starting point in Geiselwind it goes to Füttersee, where you can visit the mighty imperial oak. There is a 12% climb up to Neugrub and on the subsequent descent to Wasserberndorf the wind blows comfortably around your ears. Past shimmering ponds, you cycle on to Dreifrankenstein, where Upper, Middle and Lower Franconia meet. After a short rest, the route takes you alternately through quiet forest, vast fields and quaint villages. The most beautiful view of Franconia and an inviting rest area await you at Mahrenberg. The romantic town of Castell with its castle is just a few meters away. A visit is worthwhile and you can treat yourself to a break in one of the inns. With the vineyards always in view, you get to Greuth and on to Abtswind, the historic town with its half-timbered town hall. You drive on through the Steigerwaldvorland and after 49 kilometers you reach the Jagdschloss Ilmbach with a cozy restaurant. Strengthened you tackle the last climb: in the shady forest you climb up to the Glösberg, where a wonderful view awaits you. In Gräfenneuses you cross the watershed between Main and Regnitz and via the village Röhrensee you come back to the starting point in Geiselwind.
