The mighty castle towers over a kilometer long - exactly 1051 meters - over the listed old town. The families of the Dukes of Wittelsbach in Lower Bavaria lived here over 500 years ago, most recently the Duchess Hedwig, who was famous for the Landshut wedding.Today, with a length of 1,051 meters, the castle is the longest castle in the world and home to some castle houses (approx. 200 people live in the castle). There are also three museums and a gallery on the castle grounds. The castle is the namesake and outstanding landmark of the beautiful city - a "kind of city crown and dominant defiance at the same time". When walking through the six castle courtyards, which are strung together like a pearl necklace, you can feel the medieval flair.
I can only recommend this tour. We returned today full of impressions after we also visited Altötting. Happy Holidays to all!

Wow, great photos in a great landscape with beautiful motifs. 👍👍👍This time your tour didn't show me 😔.👍😊🙋♂️
Nice round. 👍 The best view of Burghausen is from the Austrian side.
Hello Söhni, nice tour of my hometown! 👏 We almost could have met there. A day later I was out. Maybe it will work the next time you come back to the area ... 🙋♀️ Agnes 🚴♀️🚶♀️
