Today we were looking for the bal or staircase in the Bischwinder forest. Looking for it, because the stone is not signposted and from the point where you go straight into the forest from the main path, it is not even a footpath. Coming from Bischwind, white hearts are sprayed on trees. At some point a heart comes with an arrow, from there you have to punch through the undergrowth. The Balstein can only be seen when you are standing in front of it. And it's worth it. I think it's a special and mystical place. I always get goose bumps there. There is a very special aura on the stone. The stone bench is said to have healing powers.Today it was still a somewhat chaotic tour. Now that we know how to get there, we will definitely do this tour again. The name "Balstein" comes from pre-Christian times and probably has its roots in the Celtic spring god Belenos. The festival, which was celebrated there for a long time, allows this assumption. Quote from Werner Pfeil
Wow, sounds really interesting! 👍
Yes, it's really nice there! If you go up the 28 steps, you come to a small platform - lie down - close your eyes and listen to the forest - wonderful😊
I know very nice pictures and the story too

Interesting place that I will incorporate into my tour on occasion. Is the location correct? As a MTB highlight, it is somewhere else: komoot.de/highlight/566513

Oh, I'm not sure about that! The GPS didn't work properly in the forest. But if you stick to the white heart coming from Bischwind, you can't miss it.
Picture 8, the picture with heart and arrow is the point where you have to go into the forest. Then two hearts come and then it is not far. I hope this helps you further
