The tour to the famous Kaltenberghütte begins in summerly dreamy St. Christoph, just at the height of the Arlberg Pass. Running on the border between Tyrol and Vorarlberg - and thus combining the best of two federal states - the circular hike lets you hike a little over 16 kilometers and 800 meters in altitude. But you will hardly notice that, you will encounter some wonderfully natural highlights on the way.It starts with a small idyllic mountain lake, which you will find at the beginning of the so-called mountain spirit trail. After a short break to soak up the wonderful panorama - yes, who knows, maybe you even dare to go into the freezing cold water - you hike on. Always along the way. And after a while, with a little luck, you'll hear them - the marmots. Because the area up here is known for (with a little bit more luck) you will meet the little rodents every now and then. After a little more than six kilometers you finally reach the Kaltenberghütte, which not only serves you delicious dishes, but also a wonderful view. After the well-deserved break on the busy hut terrace, the way back is via the so-called Maroi heads and finally via the Paul-Bantlin-Weg into the valley.St. Christoph is not far from St. Anton - buses run between the two places several times a day. So you can comfortably come back to your St. Anton quarters after your hike.
