In the footsteps of the Hainichlandweg we went to stage 2 with Peter.Route:
Hainich Haus Kammerforst - Taternkreuz - Langula Valley - Linden Rondell - White House - Mühlhäuser Landgraben - Struth
The path was initially lined with dead forest pieces, some of which are already regenerating (see picture).
From the 2 kilometers, the route continued for about 1.5 kilometers on an abandoned path that had not been used for a long time. Here the impression was very clear that nature is bringing the way back.
When we crossed the street from Langula to Nazza we met plantations with old, rustic fruit trees. The orchards were very nice to look at with the fresh green and invited to dream. Along the way to the Mühlhausen city forest, we linger at a Langula drinking source with a stone seating group (church background), the Taternkreuz and the Lindenrondell. We struggled from the 6 kilometers for about 1250 m through very difficult paths (felled trees on the way as well as ruts of logging vehicles).
Peter's quote: "Without people, nature would not know how to design the way".
The Waagenbalkenweg and the Fahner-Höhen-Weg also overlap the CPR in this section. A pilgrimage route is added from the Taternkreuz.
On our stage we went through forest, meadows and orchards. Insects, birds and other forest dwellers were very lively. The trees cracked in the forest in the sun, which was sometimes very scary. We saw more and more red squirrels, which were unfortunately too shy for a photo.
The CPR is well signposted, but it also has many side roads.
Tip: The Mühlhausen city forest is very idyllic with its panoramic path and sequoias. Here are the records from Peter: komoot.de/tour/192841477?ref=wta
