The thoroughly renewed Spreeradweg should be ready in May. The construction workers at the bypass in Ranzig told me that tomorrow the asphalt will be accessible everywhere. Nobody knew whether and when the sections from Ranzig to Alt Schadow would be opened to traffic. They are all passable. Alt Schadow to Neuendorf am See is finished and free. Anyone who still has nothing to do at Pentecost can e.g. B. cycling from Beeskow the tour. It is fantastic.

Hello Hugo, I would like to cycle the cucumber bike path with friends. I also hardly know the Spreewald (only from 2 canoe tours)
Do you have any tips / highlight recommendations for me / us?

@Lena if you want to drive the Gurkenradweg (spreewald.de/urlaub-im-spreewald/radfahren-im-spreewald/radtouren-im-spreewald/gurkenradweg) completely, it is well over 200km. So it means several stages including overnight stays. In the Spreewald, I planned my own tours and only partially cycled the Gurkenradweg. I was also in Cottbus, but apart from the Pückler Park it was not so relaxing, just city. I would recommend Burg (Fleischer Krabatt, harbor, old train station, 2 x ice cream parlor, park, Bismarck tower), Wehlaberg and Straupitz (Dutch windmill, castle, harbor). Here are a few of my tours, of which you could use the part in the Spreewald:

    Best regards and great experiences
PS: we once spent the night in Burg and from there we explored the Spreewald in a star shape. It was nice and relaxed.

I have a VW California, so I could look for a nice place and go for a trip. Only campsites are not my cup of tea.
