Chiemsee-Chiemgau planned a hike.
May 24, 2020
Sunny paths and shady paths alternate on this easy tour. The starting point is the late Gothic parish church of St. Laurentius. The high altar is adorned with three of the most beautiful figures by the master of Rabenden. From the Obing town hall, the path leads along Schulstraße, cross the B 304 and follow Ameranger Straße to the end. There keep to the right and at the next fork in the left turn towards Albertaich / Ilzham. After 1 km you come to the small local chapel in Ilzham (Betbankerl) with neuromanic / neo-Gothic forms, which was built in 1887. At the crossroads, hike to the right and after about 300 meters left on the Jakobsweg to Albertaich with its Catholic branch church St. Jakob. From Albertaich you continue on a dirt road (leave Wolfegg at the entrance to Albertaich on the left), which leads into a forest. Important: turn left at the first fork in the forest (signpost "Diepoldsberg")! Then follow the path until it joins a paved road (approx. 1½ kilometers). There to the right (signpost "Diepoldsberg"), after approx. 3/4 kilometers you reach Diepoldsberg with the Catholic branch church of St. Agidius (approx. 1430). After about 1.5 kilometers you reach Gramelberg, where you have a fascinating view of the Chiemgau Alps. Now follow the dirt road on the left to the sign “Allerding-Heinrichsberg”. You pass Allerding and cross the district road TS 8 at Aiglsham. Here is a private chapel from the 19th century (with equipment and roof rider). The hike now leads via Pittenhart. At the station over the railway track of the local railway Bad Endorf - Obing (LEO) to a banker at a chapel under shade trees. After another 1½ kilometers you reach Pittenhart with its Catholic parish church St. Nikolaus. Continue straight on the forest road that leads left into the forest in front of the old customs station. After about 2 kilometers you reach the plague chapel to the right of the path, which was built in 1860 in memory of the plague of 1635. After a short climb, Obing can be reached in a few minutes. Via Pestkapellenstraße you come to Poststraße with the modern church of Ev.-Luth. Church community Bad Endorf from 1997. Continue on Bahnhofstrasse, from there back to the center of Obingen and to the starting point of the tour.
