This sporty round (Nürnberger Land Radrundtour No. 6) starts at the train station in Neuhaus an der Pegnitz. The houses of the village are located at the foot of the Felsberg with Veldenstein Castle, a complex that is well worth seeing. A short tour through the village takes you past various communal breweries. The small inns have alternating opening times and offer delicious Franconian cuisine as well as specially produced beer. Alternatively, you can stop here at the end of the tour. You cross the Pegnitz, which has dug its way through the Jura, and drive towards Krottensee. If you want to see the largest stalactite in Germany, you can take a detour to the Maximilliansgrotte. The affiliated Gasthof Grottenhof also offers a good opportunity to take a break after visiting the grotto. The path leads south through a quaint forest area, in which you will find a multitude of imposing rocks and caves. The mysteries grotto, the caves of the Schelmbach stone and the Stefansturm are worth seeing. In Hirschbach, the cozy Goldener Hirsch inn invites you to take a break. Strengthened, you cycle up the sometimes steep inclines before you rush down into the Pegnitztal. You continue upstream past the Harnbacher Mühle and shortly afterwards you reach Rupprechtstegen. There you can get cold drinks at the train station in an old wagon that has been converted into a snack bar. Further uphill it goes to Hartenstein with its old castle, where you can enjoy a beautiful view. Through the shady forest and along the Pegnitz, you will reach your destination relaxed after a little more than seven kilometers in Neuhaus.
