The Pegnitz-Laber bike path takes you over 26 kilometers to places of interest in the Nuremberg region. You start in Hersbruck, which you can easily reach by train, and cycle through the historic center. At first it goes through the Pegnitz meadows, then you turn to Henfenfeld and follow the babbling Hammerbach. If you want, you can visit the Nikolauskirche and Henfenfeld Castle in Henfenfeld. The path continues to Engelthal and Offenhausen. You drive through green hop fields to Kucha, where a stop at the Kucha mill, first mentioned in 1265, is worthwhile. From Püscheldorf you can then pedal a short distance before you roll down to Unterrieden. The crowning conclusion to this tour is the imposing ruins of the monastery in Gnadenberg. Your destination is on the famous Ludwig-Donau-Main Canal.Tip: If you want to continue cycling, you can continue your bike tour both at the start and at the finish point on the five-river cycle path.
