The duisport cycle tour officially begins at the Museum of German Inland Navigation in Duisburg Ruhrort. Of course, you can also start the tour anywhere along the route. To get to the starting point, take tram line 901. It will take you to the Duisburg Thyssen Tor 30 stop, which is located directly behind the museum. You can take your bike on the train from 9 a.m. on weekdays and even all day on weekends. At the beginning of the tour, you cycle from the inland navigation museum to the Rhine. Past the spacious Rhine meadows and the railway port, you cross the Friedrich-Ebert-Bridge, which is guarded by impressive bridge towers. On the other side of the Rhine you drive directly on the bank and later through the picturesque Rhine meadows to the south. You can enjoy great views of the mighty river and the opposite bank.At the southern tip of the tour you will reach Krefeld-Uerdingen and the Rheinhafen Krefeld. Here you cross the Rhine again and make your way back. You reach Duisburg-Mündelheim along picturesque fields. Then you will pass the Krupp Mannesmann ironworks and pass the imposing Tiger & Turtle sculpture in Angerhausen. You will then reach the banks of the Rhine again, which you follow northwards. Passing the Südhafen you get to the beautifully designed Rheinpark. From here, the route takes you further into the city center of Duisburg, where you circle the inner harbor. After you have crossed the Ruhr, the Hafen Canal and the Vincke Canal, you will reach the Ruhrort district. From here you roll past the railway port back to the starting point at the inland navigation museum.
