This tour takes you from the heart of Franconian Switzerland to the picturesque town of Pegnitz. This short stage offers enough air to stop here and there so that you can really enjoy the many beautiful impressions. In addition, it is perfect as a half-day tour or as the end of a bikepacking trip, which leaves you enough time to take a train home, for example. In addition to some beautiful trail sections, you can enjoy the striking rock formations of Franconian Switzerland on the way.The tour starts in Pottenstein, an absolute hotspot for outdoor enthusiasts. You first drive a bit up to get to the panorama trail. The first beautiful view of the day is waiting for you there. You can even admire the Pottenstein Castle from here. One more loop back to Pottenstein and you are on the small river Püttlach, which you follow for a while. A beautiful trail winds its way through the beautiful nature along its banks. After about half of the route you will pass the Landgasthof Diersch, which invites you to take a little break. Rested and freshly strengthened, you are ready to enjoy further flowing trails. Finally, you leave the forest in a northerly direction and sprint up to the Little Kulm to then jet down the Kulm Trail again. Now you take turns driving through urban Bavarian villages and rustic trails until you come back to Pegnitz via the well-hidden “Heckentrail”.From Pegnitz the Regionalexpress only needs a little more than half an hour back to Nuremberg.
