Via ferrata passages, forest paths and paths under shady trees - the very long and exhausting round through the area of the Zahmer Kaiser requires no boredom.outdoor tipThe summer toboggan run Durchholzen offers fun for the whole family, information at zahmerkaiser.comrouteFrom the parking lot of the Aschingeralm you first follow a forest road and then a steep marked trail to the Jovenalm. From there, a path leads downhill to the Winkelalm. Steep switchbacks take you uphill to Winkelkar, where the route with wire rope safety devices reaches a ridge saddle over several steep but well-secured passages. The key point then leads over a light via ferrata with metal clips and wire ropes towards the pyramid tip with its perfect view of the surrounding peaks. Then on the way first slightly downhill and then in the up and down over mountainous paths to the junction to Petersköpfl. If you have enough time, you can make a five-minute detour to the Peterköpfl. All others always follow the path downhill to a saddle, on which the path branches off to the right to Naunspitze. The tour leads left downhill in tight bends to the Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte. On the road below the hut, a marked path branches off to Unterholzen on the right. Here first across forest meadows, then down through forests in steep hairpin bends, some of which are provided with wooden steps. After a slight counter climb, you reach the "Musikantenrast" and continue to a rest stop with a statue of the Mother of God. A wide path leads down under the tree line to the Gasthof Kölnberg and back to the starting point at the Aschingeralm.
