On this twelve kilometer long dream loop around the Dollberg you travel back in time to the Celts, charcoal burners and hut workers. Along the way you will discover all kinds of historical relics, such as one of the largest Celtic fortifications in Europe. It starts at the Köhlerhütte in Neuhütten. At the beginning it goes downhill to the banks of the Nonnweiler reservoir. The dam is the largest drinking water reservoir in Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate - and a nice place for a first break. We continue to the celtic village of Otzenhausen. In the open-air museum you can find out how the Celts once lived and lived. The next highlight is not long in coming: soon you will recognize the foothills of the Fliehburg. The ring wall of the former defense system measures an average width of 40 meters and is one of the most impressive early-fortifications in Europe. The path leads you further and further up the Dollberg and offers you wonderful views of the Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate.
