Our hike to the highest point in the southern Waldviertel begins just outside of Laimbach am Ostrong. Initially on beautiful forest roads, a path leads us a little steeper uphill to a fork in the road. Here we take the heavier variant. It is almost now uphill through the forest and over blocked terrain to a larger flat area. Please choose the right path here. Because of the view!
We followed the unmarked Steigerl. Surefootedness required! We reached the summit region at the new Naturfreunde refuge. A short path leads us to the summit cross on the small Peilstein. Magnificent distant view !!
And as life often plays, we meet at the summit on the Lois, which has rented a hut and invites us there spontaneously.
We hike over the large Peilstein summit to the Lindegg hut from the Lois. Naturefriends veteran from Altenmarkt, who has created a little paradise here.

The farewell is difficult, but we have to get back off the Ostrong back. A forest road leads us back to the first fork in the road. On the already well-known path, go down to the parking lot.
On the way home we still rave about our happiness with the weather and the Lois, which has captivated us with its friendly nature. Thanks again for the invitation!

The photos are terrific! Especially the pictures of the steep climb and the view from the summit!

I used the pictures of the steep climb as an excuse to take a breather 😉
Thank you for the praise. Properly due to the cell phone camera!
