May 12, 2020
More than 2,000 meters of altitude spread over around 35 kilometers - that sounds like a very nice challenge. With the e-bike you will also start to sweat at the start of the Eiger E-MTB loop, but thanks to motor support you will have enough breath to fully enjoy the breathtaking landscape of this tour. The route starts with a long and sometimes steep climb, on which you collect the first 1,100 vertical meters. You drive on a paved road, but it is car-free and therefore takes you up to the small Scheidegg in a quiet and middle of the mountain idyll. Once at the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking view in peace. The panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau is simply gigantic. There are also various refreshment options up here so that you can replenish your carbohydrate stores. The battery of your bike doesn't have to go flat either: at the Berghaus Grindelwaldblick there is a Bosch charging station that provides your e-bike with new juice. Now a long descent is waiting for you. For a full twelve kilometers, the route is only downhill via an easily navigable gravel path. The route is garnished with wonderful viewpoints and leads via Wenge down to Lauterbrunnen Valley, the Base Jump Mecca of Switzerland. When you cross the bridge over the Weisse Lütschine below, you have a fantastic view towards the landmark of Lauterbrunnen, the world-famous Staubbach waterfall. A short detour there is absolutely worthwhile. Then the second ascent of this stage begins, which takes you up to Mürren. You cross the Grütsch Trail, drive past Winteregg and finally reach the goal of the first stage: The car-free, original panoramic mountain village at the foot of the Schilthorn offers a breathtaking view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and heavenly tranquility for your first night the Eiger E-MTB Loop.
