Magnificent views of the plateaus of the Moselle plateau and quiet meadows along the sparkling Elzbach meet with a unique cultural monument: the castle par excellence - Burg Eltz!Immediately after starting from the village community center in Wierschem, the hiker can already enjoy the open expanse of the Moselle plateau. On natural paths it goes steadily uphill, which is rewarded with a magnificent view over the deeply cut Elzbachtal and the castle Pyrmont. Further through the count Eltzschen forest soon Elzbach winding in countless loops is reached. In the further course, the path connects with the Moselhöhenweg, which leads the hiker first through a flood plain and finally onto a hill.Along the rugged cliffs, there is a breathtaking view of the fairy-tale Eltz Castle, which will soon be conquered by a stone bridge. After the excursion into the Middle Ages, the hiker dives back into the magnificent nature and admires the varied river valley of the Elzbach and graceful cripple oak forests, before the Ringelsteiner mill invites you to stop by. Freshly strengthened, a glorious but steep ascent follows, rewarding the hiker with beautiful views and finally returning to the wide Moselle plateau. Passing the wind protection hedges of the Tholeisterhof, we continue to the quiet valley of the Kerner Bach, followed by alternating small groves and wide fields. Once back in Wierschem, one last look at the little Antonius chapel on the outskirts is worthwhile.
