From Bramsche we followed the road of megalithic culture to Fürstenau today. Right behind Bramsche we grazed the "Gehn", a forested mountain range that invites you to hike. At the foot of the northernmost foothills of the Wiehengebirge is the Großsteingrab am Wiemelsberg, the only completely preserved Neolithic building in the Osnabrück region. On the Ankumer Höhe you will find numerous megalithic tombs, several burial mounds and a reconstructed stone box from the Bronze Age on the three-kilometer circular route. The "Artländer Dom", the church of St. Nikolaus, which is popularly known as "the", stands high above the historic town center on the Vogelberg. On this stage we passed the "Wöstenesch Mühle", a watermill that is repaired and maintained by the local association Eggermühlen, a wonderful gem. Then the Eggermühlen Castle, a knight's estate from the 13th century. From here via Kettenkamp to the large stone tombs in Hekese. On the way to Fürstenau there is a granite block southeast of Bippen, which testifies to the devilish machinations in the region: the Näpfchenstein. Legend has it that the 66 "bowls were made in the stone when the devil, while sitting on the stone, turned malice at night. In his thoughts, he kept pressing his thumb into the stone. In 1926, the megalithic tomb was only a few steps away Amber necklace and ceramics found.
