You follow the Aa from Bocholt and cycle behind the gates of the city on the near-natural Aa bike path directly along the banks of the river. After about ten kilometers you leave the Aa bike path and drive through the Schüttensteiner forest to Isselburg. Past the Anholter Switzerland Biotope Wildlife Park you will reach the Anholt moated castle. After you have admired the castle extensively, you cycle north and then turn into the forest Schievekamp. You roll on shady paths to the Krummer Bach. This forms the border with the Netherlands. You follow the border to Suderwick. The place borders directly on the Dutch Dinxperlo. At first glance, you can’t actually see that there are two places, and certainly not that they are in two different countries. The state border runs on the curb of a road that runs through the towns. A break here is definitely worth it!With new impressions you will continue cycling on the German side. The route takes you through the wonderful nature of the Münsterland park landscape. You pass Haus Bülling and finally reach Rheder Castle in Rhede.Through a beautiful avenue in the Princes Forest, past fields, hedges and meadows, you reach the Aa again. On the Aa bike path you will pass the Pröbstingsee and comfortably get to the stage destination Borken.
