April 10, 2020
In the Krottenbach valley near Blumberg you can enjoy wide panoramic views down into the Achdorf valley as a nature lover. You also collect quite a few vertical meters on the way to Eichberg with the best view over the Wutach Gorge to the Black Forest Heights. At the rippling village fountain of Achdorf you start the first climb on the Geißhorn with a view of the Eichberg, which is still far ahead of you. Secured with chains, it goes up a path to the Scheffeu, after Eschach it is even a little steeper. But here, too, your efforts along the serpentines are supported by steel chains. Once you have reached the Sulzbach valley after a short descent from Eschach, the tour will take you just below Eichbergstutz. We have also planned a short detour to the Eichberghütte. The path is signposted and a wonderful view awaits you above.Up here you first get an overview of the highest elevations in the Black Forest - a 3.60 meter long panorama board with location, mountain, altitude and distance information supports you. After that, you always return to Achdorf downhill. Here you can reward yourself with a hearty meal for the strenuous ascent in the Gasthaus Scheffellinde.
