Gss went for a hike.

Volcanoes, caves, dry maarsThis particularly attractive stage completes the second section of the EifelBahnSteig in a dignified manner. The title already indicates that we are hiking through the Vulkaneifel here. Volcanic remains accompany us throughout: soon after Oberbettingen we meet the Lühwald outcrop, later the Rother Kopf, the Kasselburger Hahn lava pit, and finally we hike through the Gerolsteiner Dolomites. We only cross extensive forest passages twice, otherwise we go a lot through open terrain with constantly changing views.Particularly noteworthy are the "Heimatblick" above Niederbettingen, the rest area and the panoramic view "Rother Kopf" and the Munterley and other viewpoints above Gerolstein. The Roth millstone caves, the Papenkaule dry maar, the Buchenloch cave near Gerolstein and, last but not least, the Kasselburg are further highlights of this varied tour.EXPERIENCE NATURE ACTIVELY
