Starting point: Übelhack brewery in Weiglathal (95503 Hummeltal, Weiglathal 1)
This hiking trail is a good opportunity to taste beers from four Franconian microbreweries on a charming route.
Since it is a circular hiking trail, the hiker has the opportunity to start at any of the four “beer sources”.
Brief directions to the individual stages:
    Weiglathal - Lindenhardt
Starting from the Übelhack brewery (closed on Mondays) in Weiglathal, the route leads 3.2 km through the Lindenhardter Forest past the Sieben Brünnlein to Lindenhardt.
    Lindenhardt - Leups
From the brewery Kurzdörfer (Mon day off) in Lindenhardt (parish church from the 14th century with Grünewald altar), the path leads to Leups with a length of 2.8 km.
    Leups to Büchenbach
From the Gradl brewery (Tuesday closed) in Leups, the route leads 2.9 km past Eichetsbühl (519m) to Büchenbach to the Herold brewery (Tuesday closed).
    Büchenbach - Weiglathal
From here you cross the A9 through an underpass, along the “Große Leite” to Trockau and further back to the starting point in Weiglathal (9.0 km).

Everything is different this year. Corona also messes up the church year. Christians are celebrating Palm Sunday today to commemorate the entry of Christ into Jerusalem. Holy Week begins on this day. Since there are no church services this year, it would almost go unnoticed if bound palm branches were not laid out in the churches along the hiking trail, as has always been the custom. We were very pleased with this little gesture of attention. But not an ordinary Sunday! -Hosianna-

If the hikers taste a beer at every brewery, does one only arrive at the destination?

    Very nice Söhni!
I hope that this tour will not serve as a documentary for the former breweries.
It is questionable whether everyone will survive the current crisis.
In our region, the Wernecker brewery has already announced the closure.
Beer has been brewed in Werneck since 1617, and the end of September.

Reimund, you did another fantastic hike with great photos. Are breweries allowed to sell beer outside the home?

Loki, that makes me very sad because the Werneck beer brewery is a traditional brewery and is known far beyond the borders of Franconia. I hope and hope that our small Franconian beer brewers, which are usually family businesses, have an advantage over a large brewery here. You do not have to implement these huge sales volumes in order to survive and the customers also come in these times and express their solidarity with their purchases.

Doris: Honestly, we asked ourselves that today. And most of the time there is not just one Seidla at one station. And that with the sometimes crunchy climbs on the way ...
