Stubai planned a hike.
May 17, 2017
The Elfer, Neustift's local mountain, is one of the Stubai Seven Summits because of its height and boldness. If you don't want to hike over the steep rock towers of the mountain, you can go around the magnificent mountain range on a hike with great views. The route is just as varied as the rock - rugged, light rock towers made of limestone on one side and the primary rock of the Stubai Mountains, called Ötztal-Stubai-Kristallin, on the other. The route begins at the mountain station of the Elfer panorama cable car, which floats up into the mountains from Neustift. There, the first steep ascent is on the program right at the beginning: In many bends you climb up to the Elferhütte, which towers high above the valley with a wonderful panorama. Then it gets a little more comfortable and you cross the slopes below the imposing 911. Here you make a detour to the Elfer natural site, where you can enjoy the view of the Serleskamm on comfortable benches. Then you rise to the Zwölfernieder. From the saddle between Elfer- and Zwölferspitze you have a wonderful view of the rugged rocks. Then it goes steeply downhill to the Autenalm, where you can fortify yourself with all kinds of goodies for the rest of the way. Back to the mountain station, it's a little bit uphill along the slope. After this exciting circular hike, during which you got very close to the mighty rock peaks, the cable car comfortably gondolas you back down into the valley.
