The second largest sacred building of the Palatinate, in Otterberg, the large "Menhir" Hinkelstein and one of the largest heath areas in south-west Germany, the "Mehlinger Heide", you will admire on this round trip, which is also to be hiked in two stages.

The Hinkelsteinweg as a circular path connects the network of trails in the peripheral areas of the biosphere reserve "Pfälzerwald" with the hiking area Donnersberg and the hiking trail "Pfälzer Höhenweg". Along the way there are the large menhir "Hinkelstein" and a variety of historical landmarks from the Otterberg monastery. The path leads along the edge of the nature reserve "Mehlinger Heide", one of the largest heathland areas in southern Germany. The trail is characterized by natural forest paths that invite you to dream, imposing views and a varied landscape. At the Drehenthalerhof (in both directions) it is possible to hike the Hinkelsteinweg in two stages.
