In a constant up and down, this fantastic tour leads into the beautifully situated Kleinwalsertal, past alpine huts, up to the area of the mountain railways. With a length of around 35 kilometers and the steep ascent to the Schrattenwangalpe, this round is quite demanding. It starts on the outskirts of Oberstdorf. Over a demanding, steep path you overcome the long, demanding climb that leads you up to the mountain station of the Söllereckbahn and to the Schrattenwangalpe. The higher you go, the better the view and when you get to the top, you really deserve to take a deep breath and rest for a while.A short detour to Austria follows: Shortly after the Alpe you cross the border - but the landscape remains beautiful. A long descent follows to Riezlern in the Kleinwalsertal. You cross the Breitach and focus on the next highlight: Back on German soil, the idyllic Osterbergalpe offers another stop. Then you drive through the picturesque Starzlachtal back to Oberstdorf.Tip:
If you like it more comfortable, just take an e-bike. This will help you overcome the first long climb with ease. Alternatively, you can also get help from the mountain railway: Bicycles are transported by the Söllereckbahn until 10 a.m. and from 3 p.m. However, e-bikes are not taken along.
