You’ll run through the Olchon Valley and cross the River Monnow, all the while skirting alongside the Beacons Way and Offa’s Dyke, as well as constantly crossing the border.   • The best way I've found over the Black Mountains is to push up the defined RUPP Rhiw Cwnstab above Talgarth which takes 45 minutes then scoot down Grwyne Fawr past the reservoir. Much nicer than dodging the traffic on Gospell Pass!

    I was going coast to coast so I took the Monmouthshire Canal from Crickhowell
