With the ghost forest on this stage an absolute nature experience waits. In addition, there is another educational monument for those interested in insight into German history. The border tower Kühlungsborn of the GDR tells the story of the often inhuman border surveillance in the GDR.If you want to stay overnight in bed + bike accommodation, you can visit the Ringhotel Warnemünder Hof, Landhotel Rittmeister or the Jellyfish Hostel in Rostock. Even more bed + bike operations on the Baltic Sea Cycle Route can be found here: auf-nach-mv.de/uso-bettbike-unterkuenfte-ostseekuestenradweg.

We were a bit afraid when specifying 10 km of loose ground, but it worked: the racing bike did it well.

And on it goes on the Baltic Sea Cycle Route. Again there is a lot of nature but also interesting places to see. Heiligendamm is the oldest seaside resort in Germany and was founded in 1793. The place is also called the “White City by the Sea” because of the row of white houses near the beach that can be seen from the sea. The unusual and sometimes bizarre shapes of the trees in the ghost forest create a mystical atmosphere, especially at dusk, fog and wind. For a long time, the salty, damp Baltic Sea wind and the many storms have shaped the appearance of the forest. Even if the medieval city center of Rostock is not directly on the Baltic Sea Cycle Route, a visit is definitely worth it. There is a lot to discover around the new market.
