From Saalfelden city centre, take the Lichtenbergstrasse uphill to the main ascent below the Einsiedelei (Steinalm car park) in Saalfelden (a part of the Watzmann Hochkönigsrunde).

From here, you will continue on the Forstrasse to the highest point of the tour, which lies at the foot of the Breithorn. There is a bench at the top to help you make the most of the view. Next, the route leads downhill on forestry tracks and optional dirt tracks to Kronreith Mountain Inn. Take a well-deserved break and soak up its marvellous panorama.

The last section passes Maria Alm and the Urslautal golf course before taking you back to the starting point in Saalfelden.
