On this hike you will tour the imposing Höfats on the challenging track of almost 23 kilometers. The proverbial highlight is the overhanging of the saddle: from the highest point of the tour you have a fantastic view of the Allgäu mountains. The tour takes you first on comfortable hiking trails from Oberstdorf into the Trettachtal. Through the Hölltobel you climb up to the mountain village Gerstruben and follow the paths to the Dietersbachalpe - a perfect place for a first rest. Now it is steep and mountainous. On narrow trails, it goes through alpine terrain up to the elk saddle. After you have crossed the pass, the mountain trail leads you in some hairpin bends down into the picturesque Oytal. Here, the path widens again and leads you past several cozy mountain huts, which invite you to a well deserved rest. At the Oytalhaus, the last hut in the valley, you can also rent a mountain scooter and roll down the last few kilometers on the scooter to Oberstdorf.
