I finally wanted to climb the newly built Stadlerberg tower and also break in my new hiking boots. So I put together this tour, which turned out to be very nice on site. The path back into the Bachstertal is easy and mostly leads along the stream through a beautiful landscape. The Erdmannliloch and also…
Interesting rocks. And I liked the wooden tower.
We had wonderful views in the mountains.
@Karin: great pictures and a nice round, the Bachsertäli is also great. the Stadlerturm is the little brother of Hardwaldturm (between Wallisellen and Dietlikon/Kloten). On the Stadlerberg there is also a Helvetia ski jump (near the tower) and a memorial for November 14th, 1990 (Swissair crash).
@NikRohrer I also know the Hardwaldturm and the Helvetierschanze. The construction of the new tower has a certain similarity to the Hardwald tower, but there has been a tower on the Stadlerberg for much longer than in the Hardwald.
@Karin - that's true, but the new (wooden) tower on Stadlerberg was only inaugurated at the end of June this year, while the Hardwald tower was inaugurated in mid-July 2022.
I was really surprised because I had hiked there (Bachs) a while ago and didn't see any towers at all. The time from the demolition…
No, the old tower wasn't demolished long ago (I mean, about a year ago). But since it was quite weathered, you couldn't see it nearly as well as you can now see the new one.
The "old" tower was closed from the end of August 2022 and was demolished at the end of October 2022. And on June 24, 2023, the new one was inaugurated.
Ok - I was in the area in February and November '22. Yes - it doesn't matter: a reason to go on a hike there again to admire (admire/climb) the new tower 👍😃
The Erdmanlliloch is one of the few cave castles we had. Was there on a frosty winter day, beautiful valley 😁
