    Excellent!
We always wanted to do that too.
Is the descent to Königssee without climbing gear and maybe even dogs suitable?

    Thank you :)
The descent we have chosen via "Sigeretplatte". There is no need for climbing gear. In several places wire ropes were installed to hold.
Although the route is "red" I would rather not recommend it if you have a dog with you. The path is narrow, stony and sometimes slippery, because you walk a lot over scree, but sometimes the feet hardly sees it for all the plants.

My alternative to the "Tour de refrigerator":
Through the Wimbachtal to St. Bartholomä
It is not always the routes from the hiking books that you should strictly follow. Sometimes it is the routes from stories of relatives and friends or hosts that make the "special".
So my father told me that he had hiked from Wimbachbrücke via Trischübel to St. Bartholomä. And that about 30 years ago. The tour would be breathtakingly beautiful, and truly it is.
First you climb the rugged Wimbachgries and you are happy when the blue sky and the green conifers offer contrast. You can fortify yourself for the first time in the Wimbachgrieshütte. Then you climb the pass and the valley to the Obersee opens up until you can recognize the Königssee after a short climbing passage.
And you finally reach it, exhausted but cheerful, on the atypical paths away from the tourist crowds.
My husband and I were able to hike them in late summer 2016 and would want to explore them again at any time.
    Stay healthy!
