The Hasselbrack is located on the southern border of Hamburg with Lower Saxony in the Black Mountains, a northern foothill of the Harburg Mountains, in the south-southeast of the district of Neugraben-Fischbek. It lies in the state forest Rosengarten at the interface to the Daerstorfer Heide between the Waldfrieden settlement belonging to Fischbek in the north, Neu Wulmstorf-Tempelberg in the west and Rosengarten-Alvesen in the east.
The Hasselbrack is part of the Lüneburg Heath main unit, the Hohe Heide main unit and the Wilseder Endmoränen sub-unit of the Black Mountains natural area.
