“Simply to the highest point - this is always the best choice when exploring a new area. Then the goal is clear and a wonderful route can be planned around it. There is no problem deviating from the route: you actually always have the highest point in mind. The Great Feldberg is no exception. At 880 meters, the summit itself is not a giant in the real sense, but it is something very special due to its striking and outstanding height within the area.
On the long and sometimes steep ascent to the summit, pass road feelings actually arise. The Great Feldberg is not only the highest mountain in the region, around it the Taunus is a wonderful racing bike area: sparsely populated, idyllic forest and lots of well-paved roads. Even if the Taunus is "only" a low mountain range, you can collect a lot of vertical meters and at the same time there are enough wonderful straights to scrub the right speed. "
