On this ten kilometer long hike, breathtaking rocky landscapes, a rushing mountain river and old bridges and tunnels await you. There is something for everyone on the hike through the Zügenschlucht. You start at the valley station of the Rinerhorn Bahn in Davos Glaris. You keep to the right and continue walking over the road bridge. The path takes you up a bit and then runs above the road. You will soon reach the Davos Monstein station. Alternatively, you can only start the hike here, because now the most beautiful part of the route begins.Next to the Schmelzboden restaurant, the path leads you into the Zügenschlucht. Here you will also find the Graubünden Mining Museum, where you can find out everything you need to know about the various rocks and mining history before you hike through the gorge. The carriages used to run here on their way to Davos, information boards tell you more about this time. Today a flat gravel path leads through tunnels, over bridges and over the crystal-clear mountain river Landwasser. Every half hour you can also watch the Rhaetian Railway as it winds through the rocky valley. From the Wiesen station, your destination, you can then take the train back to your starting point. If you still have time before departure, you can treat yourself to a piece of cake at the end of the hike.
