On this 13 kilometer long hike you become a border crosser: on the Schlappiner Joch you hike to the Swiss-Austrian border. Säumer once used this path, today it offers you fantastic views of the impressive alpine landscape. The hike starts from Klosters Dorf. You can cover the first meters of altitude with the Madrisa cable car to the Madrisa mountain station. Madrisa-Land, the first alpine adventure park, is located on the Sonnenberg in Klosters. A lot of fun for the little hikers. We continue to the Saaser Alp and to the Zügenhüttli. There you can treat yourself to a promising break and snack on a portion of mountain cheese. On the high trail it continues over the Älpli to the Schlappiner Joch. Many goods such as wine from the Veltlin and cattle were once transported annually on the mule track. However, you can enjoy the fantastic view without any worries. From the yoke, a steep descent leads south to Schlappin. There you can stop at the Berghaus Gemsli or the Berghaus Erika and enjoy the homemade specialties. There is also a nice barbecue area right on the lake in Schlappin.Via the Alpstrasse or the footpath on the left side of the valley, you hike along the banks of the rushing torrent back to Klosters Dorf.
