After a relaxed night's rest in Mandling, the second stage of the Stoneman Taurista is waiting for you. It is significantly shorter than stage 1 and today there is only one “right” mountain on your agenda. So if you were busy a little longer last night letting the treats and home-made spirits on the Mandlberggut work on you, take it easy today.Back on the bike, you head for the cozy holiday village of Forstau before the climb begins. Today, it is only a mountain that has to be climbed. To be honest, there is something about it and is described by one or the other biker and many a biker as excruciatingly long. However, the landscape here is simply beautiful and various places to stop for refreshments offer you opportunities to rest and recharge your batteries for the onward journey. For example, the Vögeialm or the Oberhütte with an alpine view are ideal for a long break before the highlight of the day awaits you with the high-alpine trail section to the Seekarscharte.From up here you can already see the goal of this stage. At the foot of the numerous ski slopes is the winter sports resort of Obertauern, which of course also offers you all kinds of places to stop and spend the night. At almost 1,700 meters, you can even enjoy the Alpine air while you sleep.
